The Verderflex Ds500 metering and dosing pump

York Fluid Controls Ltd. recently welcomed Verder Pumps to its family of manufacturers of industrial pump solutions. The manufacturer has recently developed the unique Verderflex Ds500 metering and dosing pump, built specifically for challenging traditional technological solutions to certain pumping applications, all while using peristaltic technology.

Low-flow capacity range, dosing mode, continuous flow, and abrasive and viscous liquids are among the main application areas for this Verder unit.

Small footprint with secure mounting

The principle behind this technology is to improve accuracy while also saving costs – both direct costs, regarding chemical use, and indirect costs, via reduced tool-free maintenance and service. The Ds500 saves chemical consumption with high accuracy for metering and dosing, and service is fast and simple with tool-free cartridge change that takes minutes. The pump also has a touchscreen control panel for easy setup, adjustment, and use.

A true self-priming and dry-running pump, the Ds500 has no valves, which eliminates clogging and gassing issues and heightens abrasion resistance. The pump is recommended for abrasives and products with solid content, and it can handle viscous and abrasive fluids. Its accurate flow performance runs from 0.1 to 500 millilitres per minute and handles pressures of up to seven bar. Minimal fluid “live” containment ensures user safety and less need for cleanup.

Another unique feature of the Ds500 metering and dosing pump is its Remote Assistant, which supports remote monitoring and ensures accuracy in the process and high value, with the assistance of the Industrial Internet of Things. Other advantages of this solution from York Fluid Controls include a click-and-go cartridge, a smoothed flow for better dosing, and a small footprint with secure mounting.

The key component of the Ds500 is the tube. A roller or shoe comes onto the tube, squeezes it, and passes along the tube, effectively dragging fluid into it and creating suction. A second roller or shoe turns the filled section of the tube into a pocket or pillow of liquid, which is pushed out the other side of the tube, opening up at the inlet to refill with fluid.
