Advanced Motion & Controls carries Vectis products.

Advanced Motion & Controls Ltd. offers robotic solutions by Vectis Automation. The manufacturer continues to innovate cobot fabrication tools to help users tackle a wider range of welding applications – starting with a cart-based system that is still very popular. But users can accomplish more by leveraging Vectis’ flexible tools.

From technologies like seam tracking, touch sensing, multipass, and pattern and stitch software to mechanical deployment options, Vectis opens new application frontiers.

Rugged and flexible process

Vectis recommends various deployment methods to help users accomplish more with less every time. Optional cart layouts include L, T, off-the-cart, Park’N’Arc, and remote mounting configurations. Watch this video for a closer look:

Used with a pushcart, the new Rover deployment method brings the welder and the Vectis cobot welding tool to large workpieces. This is a rugged, flexible process built on a heavy-duty, all-terrain cart and designed with portability in mind for heavy-industry fabrication shops. The user can undock the cobot’s compact skid from the full cart with a forklift or crane and place it onto large parts to perform long, boring weld joints. The Rover method is available for integration into a broad variety of leading power sources, touch options, and the existing Vectis welding feature toolbox.

The Rover unlocks new automation possibilities for heavy-industry fabricators. It is like a magnetic drill for welding, in which a tool can be brought to a workpiece and perform dull, dexterous tasks for hours. Advanced Motion & Controls can offer the following Vectis components:

  • Magnetic base. Pairs with quick-docs to enable fully flexible welding on magnetic surfaces.
  • Quick-dock base connector. Primary dock attached to base of cobot arm, with secondary docks attached to various fixtures or magnetic base.
  • Boom. Allows the robot to be picked up using a lift.
  • Park’N’Arc. Forty-four-inch diving board with manual rotation.
