The Teledyne Hastings HVG-2020A vacuum gauge from Durham Instruments

Teledyne Hastings manufactures a wide range of test and measurement solutions that are available to Canadian businesses through Durham Instruments. A popular example is the innovative HVG-2020A vacuum gauge. This highly flexible digital device is a media-isolated, gas-composition-independent, piezo-resistive gauge that offers accurate pressure measurement to customers through its rough vacuum region. Easy for users to install, this unit provides both digital and analog output, for simple integration into process control.

Various operation views and modes

The HVG-2020A has an optional display that offers various operation views and modes, and it gives the user a choice among a wide range of output signals. This vacuum gauge is the perfect alternative for a more expensive capacitance manometer, with a digital output that can include RS232 and RS 485 through a small jack located on top of the instrument. Certain models also have USB connections, which make operation and connection easier. Teledyne Hastings also provides a free Windows data-acquisition software, for data logging with this device.

Among the other major features and specifications of the Teledyne Hastings HVG-2020A vacuum gauge:

  • A range from 0.1 to 1,000 Torr
  • An accuracy of plus or minus (0.1 per cent of reading plus ½ Torr)
  • Wetted materials (304 and 316 stainless steel) for media isolation
  • 0-1 VDC, 0-5 VDC, 0-10 VDC linear
  • 0-20 mA, 4-20 mA linear
  • RS232/RS485
  • Status LEDs
  • Multiple views, including pressure versus time plot, bar graph, and set-point status
  • NIST traceable calibration
  • A certificate/data-sheet option

This device is ideal for such tasks as rough vacuum monitoring, semiconducting, laser systems, chemical research, air sampling, central vacuum monitoring, oil reprocessing, medical research, and other applications in many sectors. Durham Instruments recommends the HVG-2020A for use in such industries as general manufacturing, aerospace, automation, food processing, education, packaging, power generation, alternative energy, and transportation.
