The newly upgraded UR10e cobot by UR

Universal Robots (UR) manufactures innovative collaborative robot arms, or “cobots”, available from Advanced Motion & Controls Ltd. The manufacturer recently upgraded its UR10e model to offer higher versatility, with a reach of 1.3 metres and a payload of 12½ kilograms. This reach spans wide spaces without sacrificing precision or performance.

The improved version of the UR10e is recommended for machine-tending, palletizing, and packaging applications. It makes collaborative automation more accessible to many businesses.

Ideal for heavy operations

The upgraded model weighs 33½ kilograms and offers a 190-millimetre footprint, with 25 per cent more lifting capacity, making it ideal for heavy operations. It moves more boxes per pick, uses heavier tools, and processes heavier work pieces, resulting in higher productivity and higher product quality, while freeing workers to focus on more rewarding tasks. The system is supported by world-leading training, local support, intuitive design, and extraordinary performance with the fastest payback times in the industry.

Another major benefit of this cobot is safety. Overexertion causes 24 per cent of occupational injuries in manufacturing, while eight per cent result from repetitive motion. The upgraded UR10e automates more applications that cause these injuries, enabling higher productivity in other areas.

By combining human ingenuity with precision engineering, cobots simplify manufacturing operations and keep processes going 24 hours a day, every day. The newly improved UR10e is a powerful, intuitive model that is easy to program, versatile, capable of employee collaboration, and beneficial to organizations worldwide with automation capabilities.

The cobot wrist stays oriented downwards in palletizing applications, which creates a longer centre-of-gravity offset that allows the user to focus more payload on work pieces and less on grippers and moment arms. This leads to a higher payload capacity in these tasks.

UR has conducted rigorous testing on this upgraded cobot, as it does with all of its products, to guarantee its high payload capacity and longer reach, ensuring its reputation as the best in its field. Advanced Motion & Controls supplies the UR10e as an OEM robot system and with a three-position Teach pendant.
