Chevrier is about to update its online look.

Chevrier Instruments Inc. has served the Canadian industrial community for nearly half a century with its lineup of world-class test and measurement solutions from major manufacturers. This month, the veteran supplier expects to launch a new website, still at ChevrierInstruments.com, with new features added and more information on all the company’s products.

This newly upgraded website, also bilingual, will bring Chevrier into a new era – and another chapter in the company’s longtime history.

Always a family business

Over the decades, Chevrier has always operated as a family business. The distributor’s roots go back to the early 1950s, when young Quebec native Jacques Chevrier finished his commerce studies at the University of Ottawa. He went on the road as a salesman, which led to eventual success as the sole Quebec representative for Baker Instruments, a Montreal company that supplied innovative measurement devices in Ontario in the late ’60s.

At Baker, Jacques Chevrier met instrumentation professor Pierre Ménard, who taught him about calibration and repair of measuring instruments in full detail. Chevrier gained enough confidence from this education to found a new distribution company in 1975, with help from his wife and Ménard. In its third year of business, the new company was incorporated as La Cie J. Chevrier Instruments Inc. Jacques Chevrier later hired his sons to repair manometers, and other family members joined the company. By the end of 2011, Chevrier Instruments employed three generations of the Chevrier family.

Jacques Chevrier passed away in 2015, but his legacy survives in his company, which now includes his brother Marc as general manager and his son Denis as technical director. The company retains its highest priority: to provide top measurement innovation, service, and technical support from a skilled, cordial team.

As Chevrier brings its website into the 2020s, it signifies yet another milestone in the company’s lengthy existence. The new site will include a promotion tab, and product updates will be an ongoing process over 2023. With a new look, but the same expertise and reliability, Chevrier will continue to satisfy its customers for years to come.
