Wet surfaces are a target for corrosion. But, as a leader in corrosion prevention, Denso North America has a solution for this common challenge. Its Denso Paste S105 is a corrosion inhibitor that is very effective underwater or on very wet metal surfaces such as pilings, risers and H-piles. One of its major advantages is its easy application.

Simple to use

Denso Paste S105 is a soft petrolatum primer containing water-displacing, corrosion-inhibiting and flow-control additives. It serves as a corrosion inhibitor, and aids in the application of petrolatum tapes. The primer is so simple to use that it can be easily applied by inexperienced personnel using a gloved hand or stiff bristle brush.

First, the user must prepare the surface by removing all loose scale, rust or other foreign matter in accordance to SSPC SP2 “Hand Tool Cleaning” or SP3 “Power Tool Cleaning”. A high-pressure water wash of 3,000 to 7,000 psi is also suitable. Next, the user simply applies a thin uniform coat of Denso Paste S105 to the entire surface. No cure time is required, which means no shut downs are necessary.

Additional details

Denso Paste S105 contains no volatile organic compounds, and meets AWWA C-217 standards. It’s part of Denso North America’s line of primers, which also includes petrolatum tape primer, high temperature paste/primer, hi-tack petrolatum tape primer, bitumen tape primer and butyl tape primer.
