Many types of shims available from Canadian distributor

Daemar offers a wide selection of shims to help its customers with alignment applications. Its portfolio includes slotted shims, shim rolls and sheets, as well as custom shims to meet the needs of applications that have unique requirements.

Slotted shim kits

DMR slotted shims are manufactured from 304 stainless steel. Each kit contains 10 mini or 20 standard shims in thicknesses ranging from .001 to .125 inches. Each shim is permanently etched with thickness and size information for ease of selection. They also feature wide slots and an extended tab for ease of installation. All slots come in a sturdy steel carrying case to simplify organization, storage and transport.

Shim rolls and sheets

Daemar also carries shim stock rolls that can be easily stamped, bored, cut, milled, sheared or drilled to suit any application. Rolls are available in thicknesses ranging from 0.0005 to 0.032 inches, widths of six or 12 inches, and a range of materials, from steel, brass and nickel, to copper, aluminum and more. These rolls are conveniently packaged in an easy-to-open box, which has been labelled for quick and easy part identification. The box is also simple to store and transport.

Plastic shim sheets are also available for applications where corrosion is a problem. Available in five- by 20-inch, 10- by 20-inch and 20- by 20-inch pieces, these items are colour-coded for customer convenience. Special slit widths are also available upon request.

Custom shims

Daemar understands that standard shim sizes don’t fit all applications. This is why the company offers custom shim sizes, precision manufactured to the customer’s exact requirements. However, customization does not mean long wait times. Each custom shim quote is processed in 24 to 48 hours, with a three- to five-day turnaround on most jobs. Custom packaging and labelling are also available.
