A global gear process pump by Tuthill

John Brooks Company Limited supplies an amazing range of fluid-handling solutions, including many designed to meet the standards of the American Petroleum Institute. This includes products that meet the strict API 676 standard: the Tuthill series of GlobalGear Process Pumps, and the SEEPEX line of BNA API 676 Standard Pumps.

Due to their safety, sustainability, and environmental friendliness, these API 676 pumps are highly recommended for the oil and gas industry. The Institute has set forth the API 676 standard to establish guideline specifications for using rotary positive displacement pumps in the petroleum, petrochemical, and gas sectors.

Tackling tough high-viscosity applications

A preferred solution for supporting lubrication applications in large natural-gas compressors, Tuthill global gear process pumps are designed to tackle the toughest high-viscosity applications. They have a strong shaft design with high-strength materials, as well as oversized diameters, to create strong, reliable shafts with less deflection and longer seal lifespans. Rotor and idler gears are made from tough materials that can handle the stresses of high-viscosity, high-pressure operation; steel-rotor upgrades are not required.

Tuthill GlobalGear pumps are designed to satisfy a growing customer base of large, international oil and gas end users with API 676 standard requirements (with some exceptions). The manufacturer offers API 682 mechanical seals for API 676 configured pumps and allowable nozzle loads that are at least double the minimum allowable nozzle loads specified in API 676. Also available is the complete package of base plate, electric motor, gear reducer, coupling, and guard that addresses API 676 features and specifications, as well as other project-specific requirements.

Other key features that extend seal life for these Tuthill pumps: oversized shaft and bearing diameters on models GG130 to GG550; large bore sizes, for stuffing boxes; pressurized liquid paths, for seal lubrication; options for viscous liquid duty seals; and inline seal maintenance. Customers can customize these GlobalGear pumps to meet the requirements of specific tasks.

With rugged, heavy-duty castings that meet the third edition of the API 676 standard, plus casing parts made of super duplex stainless steel, SEEPEX BNA range pumps are also available from John Brooks Company. The maximum containment pressure for suction and discharge is 50 bar, and the flanges are suitable for twice the external forces and movements that API 676 requires. In addition to oil and gas, SEEPEX recommends these pumps for gas-hazardous use.

Seepex BNA range pumps offer several unique advantages. All process parts are cast and machined, with no welding needed, and they involve fewer documents and inspections. Each has a heavy-duty design. Conveying capacity ranges from 0.3 to 110 cubic metres per hours, with working pressure up to 350 pounds per square inch and casing pressure as high as 725 pounds per square inch.
