BETE manufactures the TurboMix Eductor nozzle.

BETE fluid-handling solutions are available from John Brooks Company Limited, like the TurboMix Eductor nozzle for clog-resistant agitation and mixing of liquids in tanks. This is an effective, economical way to circulate fluids in open or closed tanks, with no moving parts and minimal maintenance required.

The TurboMix Eductor is available in plastic or metal models and sprays with a cone-shaped plume, with an inherently clog-resistant design.

Multiplying effect on liquid flow

The initial liquid pumped into the system is blended with the tank contents within the nozzle before being sprayed back into the tank. The nozzle operation creates a multiplying effect on liquid flow, making the volume of discharge liquid three-to-five times greater than that of the motive fluid pumped. The flow rate ranges from 6.96 to 3,180 gallons per minute. The nozzle contains glass-filled polypropylene, brass, carbon steel, and 316 stainless steel, and it connects to numerous pipe sizes from 3/8 to eight. John Brooks Company recommends it for the following applications:

  • Fire protection in water-storage tanks. Stagnant water in these tanks can form thermally stratified layers. Creating movement in the tank reduces bacterial growth. The nozzle can also be used to add and mix chlorine and other additives efficiently.
  • Clearing sediment. The TurboMix Eductor keeps water flowing across the area under and around the pump to keep silt from settling, when pumping water from a river into a pond, for example. The nozzle is also compatible with clearing sediment in enclosed sump pits.
  • Clearing sludge. In tanks in which sludge deposits on the bottom, the TurboMix Eductor can push the sludge along the bottom into a removal trough. This is recommended over a mechanical scraper system, as it reduces downtime.
  • General particle agitation. The nozzle is effective in many agitation applications, as it keeps particles in suspension by essentially stirring the tank.
  • Material injection and mixing. Ideal when the user has to inject a chemical into a tank and keep the fluid circulating, for instance.
  • Breaking up a grease layer. The TurboMix Eductor keeps grease from solidifying into a mass.
