The Large Pitch series of leaf chains is very durable.

The current Large Pitch chains can withstand the heaviest demands of many lifting applications, with a significantly extended lifespan and improved wear resistance, compliant with ASME and ANSI standards.

A secure, heavy-duty design

The Large Pitch series achieves high performance with a secure, heavy-duty design that incorporates a blend of select-quality alloy steel, heat treatment, exact manufacturing tolerances, special plate and pin treatments, and pitch compensation. Tsubaki offers three models of Large Pitch leaf chains:

• Standard. Achieves long life even under heavy loads, thanks to Tsubaki’s technological and manufacturing expertise.
• Extended Life. Up to double the life of the Standard chain, due to special treatment of critical components. Plates are coated with black oxide for lubricity and a moderate level of corrosion protection during outdoor use.
• Ultra Life. The peak of wear performance, this chain incorporates advanced technology and manufacturing processes to last four times as long as the Standard Large Pitch chain. Greater corrosion resistance and longer lifespan, due to the advanced plate coating.

Another key advantage of these leaf chains is their innovative pin technology. Pins are made from case-hardened chrome-moly ally steel, for higher core hardness than other case-hardened steels offer – resulting in maximum tensile and fatigue strength, plus top resistance to wear, abrasion, and galling. Following heat treatment, pins are ground accurately to exact diameter specifications.

The Tsubaki team precision-stamps all plates through hardened alloy steel and shot-peens them for high tensile strength and maximum resistant to fatigue and shock. Both inside and outside plates are designed and built for maximum tensile strength and fatigue resistance. Large Pitch chains are also treated with a unique pre-lubrication process, which involves immersing chains in a hot soak tank to ensure sufficient penetration deep into the critical pin-plate contact bearing areas.
