WORKHORSE chains are the standard for challenging bulk material handling.

Businesses across the country trust Tsubaki of Canada for chains that outdo the performances of all competing solutions. For instance, the company’s WORKHORSE brand of industrial elevator chains has become the manufacturing standard for aggressive bulk material-handling applications, such as cement, lime, salt, and other harsh fine particulates.

WORKHORSE chains live up to their name: they are built to offer superior ultimate strength, maximum toughness, and high reliability.

Specially selected high-strength steel

The Tsubaki team produces these industrial elevator chains with a proprietary combination of premium domestic steel and refined heat treatment. The company uses specially selected high-strength steel and a portfolio of well-refined proprietary manufacturing processes. This process results in chains with an unmatched strength rating, exceeding most competing designs available today.

The toughness and wear resistance of the WORKHORSE series puts it in a league of its own. Tsubaki employs exclusive, precisely refined heat treatments for these chains, leading to unsurpassed toughness and a high level of resistance to the abrasive, demanding forces of aggregate elevators.

The company keeps a large inventory of premium upgrades for these industrial elevator chains, to suit specific applications. Plated pins, bushings, and patented joint seals are among the examples. Customers usually incorporate these features individually or in combination, to get top protection. The Tsubaki team helps users directly with selecting the appropriate features for their individual needs.

The WORKHORSE series distinguishes itself with Tsubaki’s patented sealed joint-chain design, which has three elements:

  • Extended bushing barrier seal – Chain bushings extend beyond inner sidebars to minimize clearance between outer bars and bushings, creating a solid barrier that stops abrasive materials from entering pin/bushing joints.
  • Polymer wide face seal – This seal encircles the extended bushing to add a particulate-resistant barrier and reduce contamination. Made of high-temperature engineered polymer.
  • Stainless steel internal ring seal – This makes a labyrinth to prevent debris from invading the pin/bushing area, while holding tightly onto the pin and rotating within a bushing groove.

The unique WORKHORSE design is ideal for cement, gypsum, coal, sugar, grain, clay, carbon, fertilizer, potash, and other challenging applications.
