The rotational drive includes a pin wheel and pin gear, and the diameter of the pin wheel can be chosen freely, while the linear drive consists of a pin rack and pin gear, of which the pin-rack length can also be chosen freely. The pin gear on these drive units features specially designed teeth that engage constantly and smoothly with the rollers, and the teeth are hardened to improve wear resistance and strength. The tooth profile is based on an approximate involute to make sure it can engage smoothly with the pin wheel or rack; the profile increases strength with its unique design.
