PTU components

One-touch doors, power locks, and shock relays are available from Tsubaki.

Tsubaki of Canada is known and trusted for its high-quality industrial chains and related products, but another area the manufacturer covers is power transmission utility components, or PTU components. As businesses continue to demand higher efficiency and reliability from their machinery, these components satisfy this need, saving money while boosting productivity.

With such power transmission utility components as power locks and shock relays, Tsubaki helps customers optimize their power transmission

Three types of components

Three types of PTU components are available from Tsubaki: one-touch doors, power locks, and shock relays. A one-touch door is a dust- and rain-tight inspection and service door for conveyors and other types of processing and handling equipment. Immediately after installation, the door enables quick, easy inspection without any special tools required; the user needs only to lift a lever, without having to loosen any bolts or remove any easily lost covers.

These prefabricated units offer a huge advantage over expensive, labour-intensive in-house fabrications that are clumsy and difficult to open. Strong and sturdy, one-touch doors save users ample time and money by requiring one simple movement.

Tsubaki power locks are keyless locking devices that offer a better alternative for connecting components to shafts, with their high clamping strength. Able to mount any rotational component, power locks are suitable for connecting timing pulleys, sheaves, conveyor pulleys, indexing applications, sprockets, gears, cams, levels, motors and hydraulics, clutches and brakes, and flange couplings.

Advantages of these power locks include easy attachment of shafts to hubs without extra assembly work, solid connections, elimination of gaps between hubs and shafts, and simple installation.

The third type, shock relays, prevent damage to chains, drives, gears, turbines, and entire mechanical assemblies from unexpected shock loads. When Tsubaki shock relays and external current transformers detect problems, they shut down lines instantly and securely. After the issue is fixed, the user can resent the relay by pressing a button, with no teardown necessary – boosting efficiency and reducing downtime.

Each of these PTU components carries the Tsubaki Advantage, as reliable, premium products that outperform the competition, saving time and expense.
