Varitrak to the rescue

The company, an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) that produced drilling equipment for exploration, was having trouble with repeated failures of its hydraulic hoses in the field. It turned out that poor management of the hoses was causing the problem, leading to pinching, major wear and tear, and serious safety concerns.

To fix the problem, the OEM chose to use KabelSchlepp’s Varitrak S steel cable and hose carriers to eliminate the excessive hose wear and safety hazards in the application. The carriers’ wide aluminum frame stays minimized the wear of the hose jackets and lowered the coefficient of friction. And the special design of the chain links – consisting of two welded plates positioned in a sandwich-style design – ensured extensive, unsupported lengths and the ability to carry high additional loads.
