TruTool shears are lightweight, portable instruments that are ideal for beginning new rolls or for fast cutting of bent or damaged areas. Cordless models of these Trumpf products are available, and it is easy to switch their blades. They can be used to cut metal as thick as 0.17 of an inch, with precision and no distortion.

Trump recommends its cutting shears for tinsmiths, plumbers, electricians, and heating and ventilation specialists. These tools have such key benefits as chip-free slitting, great manoeuvrability around curves, and obstructed views. The S 160 model is small enough to enable radii as small as 0.59 of an inch, and the S 250 is perfect for curves and continuous use. Both these shears are available from Dobco with Li-Ion rechargeable batteries; so is the S 114, which cuts ventilation ducts with high precision. Other options include the S 350 and S 450, with height adjustment for customizable settings.

Slitting shears are built for construction tasks, including drywall, façades, air ducts, automobiles, and aircraft. Their advantages include lack of deformation or surface scratches and dimensional accuracy. Trumpf makes four kinds of the C 160 slitting shear, including two with chip clippers, perfect for interior cut-outs and notches. The model with the 10.8-volt Li-Ion rechargeable battery is ideal for curves. The C 250 comes with a chip clipper to cut chips in any location with one hand and is available with an 18-volt rechargeable battery for cutting metal sheets of 2½-millimetre thickness without a cord. The C 200 Akku shear is also available with an 18-volt Li-Ion battery.
