The TruTool F 301 by Trumpf is recommended primarily for closing Pittsburgh seams on ducts with flange heights ranging from eight to 11 millimetres (mm), as well as sheet thicknesses from 0.03 to 0.05 inches in mild steel.

An independent roll-glide process

This seam locker uses an independent roll-glide process to close seams, locking sheets from 0.018 and 0.04 inches while automatically adjusting according to sheet thickness. The TruTool F 301 also has a self-feed feature that ensures continuous, tight seaming. These features are part of how this tool helps to increase productivity and lower costs for HVAC professionals.

Dobco offers two models of the TruTool F 301 seam locker: a 230-volt version and a 110-volt version. Both models have a working speed of four to seven metres per minute and a nominal input power of 555 watts. Several types of accessories are also available – a guide rail, a 30-degree driver roller, a 75-degree driver roller, a horizontal roller, and the Trumpf Box M3.

Other technical specifications of this tool include the following:

• Maximum sheet thickness: 0.45 mm for steel at 400 newtons per square millimetre (minimum); one mm for steel at 400 newtons per square millimetre (maximum);
• Smallest inner radius (preformed): 150 mm;
