nibbling tools

Dobco carries Trumpf TruTool nibblers.

Dobco Equipment is the Canadian source for innovative power tools by Trumpf. This includes the unique TruTool line of nibbling tools. Trumpf nibblers can cut sheet metal of many levels of thickness while emitting no dust, gas, or smoke. They allow users to cut metal without feed force, distortion, or sparks.

Among the many applications for which Trumpf nibblers are ideal are plumbing, coil cutting, and tank assembly and dismantling.

Full rotation on the spot

Nibbling is a metal-cutting process that uses a punch and die to cut sheet metal quickly; the die holder absorbs the punching force, and punched bits fall out in chips. TruTool nibbling tools are easy to use and comfortable on the hands. Each has a hollow round punch for 360-degree rotation on the spot and allows for a clear view of the work surface. Trumpf nibblers can cut sheets from 0.13 to 0.4 inches in thickness, depending on the tool design.

The three types of Trumpf TruTool nibbling tools offered by Dobco:

  • TruTool N 500. This nibbler cuts steel sheets of thicknesses up to one-fifth of an inch and aluminum up to 0.28 inches. This makes it perfect for dismantling tanks and containers. The N 500 cuts in four directions, even backwards, and is ideal for material that bends up to right angles. Weighing less than four kilograms, this tool is easy to manoeuvre horizontally or vertically, and it is recommended for cutting coils.
  • TruTool N 700. The N 700 nibbler weighs less than seven kilograms. It is also perfect for dismantling tanks and containers and can handle steel of up to 0.28 inches thick, as well as aluminum of up to 0.4 inches thick. With the two exchangeable grips, users can reach difficult spots in various applications, in different angles and positions.
  • TruTool N 1000. This one is built to cut steel up to 0.39 inches thick and aluminum close to ½ an inch thick. The two-speed drive allows the user to cut more quickly, but the N 1000 can cut thick sheets even at low speed.
