nibblers

Dobco carries Trumpf's TruTool nibblers.

Dobco Equipment makes Trumpf tools available to Canadian businesses, including the TruTool line of nibblers. These tools can cut sheet metal of various levels of thickness, with no dust, gas, or smoke emissions. Nibbling is a metal-cutting process that is often essential in plumbing, coil cutting, tank assembly and dismantling, and other related applications. TruTool nibblers enable workers to cut metal without feed force, emission, distortion, or sparks.

Comfortable, easy to manoeuvre

Nibbling is a process that involves using a punch and die to cut sheet metal quickly. The die holder absorbs the punching force, and punched metal bits fall out in chips. Trumpf nibbling tools are comfortable on the hands and easy to use, with a hollow round punch for 360-degree rotation on the spot, as well as allowance for a clear view of the work surface. TruTool nibblers can handle sheet thicknesses ranging from 0.13 to 0.4 inches, depending on the individual tool design.

Three models of TruTool nibblers are available from Dobco:

  • TruTool N 500 – This nibbler cuts steel sheets up to one-fifth of an inch thick and aluminum up to 0.28 inches thick, making it ideal for dismantling tanks and containers. The N 500 can cut in four different directions, including backwards, and is perfect for material that bends up to 90 degrees. It weighs less than four kilograms and is easy to manoeuvre either horizontally or vertically. Trumpf recommends it especially for cutting coils.
  • TruTool N 700 – Weighing less than seven kilograms, the N 700 is also perfect for dismantling tanks and containers, with its ability to aluminum up to 0.4 inches thick and steel up to 0.28 inches thick. The two exchangeable grips enable users to reach difficult spots in varying applications, in different angles and positions.
  • TruTool N 1000 – The N 1000 is constructed to cut steel up to 0.39 inches thick and aluminum close to 0.5 inches thick. Users can cut more quickly when needed due to the two-speed drive, and even at low speed, this nibbler still cuts thick sheets.
