The HBM T40B torque transducer

HBM Test and Measurement products are available to Canadian businesses thanks to Durham Instruments – including the unique T40B torque transducer. Customers across the continent trust this highly innovative device for top static and dynamic, digital torque measurement, with nominal (rated) torques that range from 50 to 10,000 newton metres.

The T40B is a cost-efficient, high-performance flange that provides high prevision, robustness, and reproducible results in test benches to users.

Delivering reliable measurement data

This torque flange is a versatile unit that products digital torque measurement for power-train, aero, engine testing, and other tasks in different sectors. Major benefits of the T40B include high-temperature stability and 0.03 per cent accuracy in terms of linearity, including hysteresis. The device allows power measurement in the drive train when the user combines it with the integrated magnetic rotational-speed measuring system. The non-contact power supply and digital signal transmission result in maintenance-free and fail-safe operation, and the TIM-EC interface module for the EtherCAT and TIM-PN for Profinet create top performance and flexibility when integrating torque and rotational speed signals with world-class test-bench systems.

The T40B transducer has an HBM accuracy class of 0.05, high temperature stability, and high accuracy and stability due to the ratiometric measurement method. Even in difficult ambient conditions, its innovative digital data transmission delivers reliable measurement data. High vibration strength makes it robust, and error detection ensures transmission without any interference or loss in accuracy.

Another advantage is maximum flexibility for current and future digital torque measurement. Analog and digital interfaces are available for easier integration with varying test-bench systems, plus an optional reference pulse for acquiring the absolute rotor position. This device is particularly powerful for testing electrical equipment when used with Genesis High Speed. The reference pulse helps users obtain information about the absolute rotor position, needed for analysis.

This is the first flange in its class to benefit from extremely secure digital info transfer between stator and rotor. Durham Instruments recommends it for general manufacturing, aerospace, automation, food processing, forestry, the medical field, the military, power generation, alternative energy, and transportation.
