Wainbee supplies Parker's TS Series of torque motors.

Wainbee Limited supplies a wide range of innovative industrial equipment across Canada, including many products designed specifically for wash-down applications. Parker, one of the many great manufacturers with whom Wainbee partners, makes the Torqmotor TS Series, which consists of a durable, stainless steel hydraulic torque motor with high corrosion resistance.

Perfect for corrosive environment applications like food processing, subsea tasks and wastewater treatment, this is a rugged Low Speed High Torque (LSHT) orbital motor with a high-pressure shaft seal.

The ultimate in corrosion protection

This torque motor has a robust construction with continuous oil flow across splines for longer operational life. It also uses a stainless steel front housing and output shaft, with a glass-filled polypropylene rear cover for extremely enhanced corrosion protection. Parker has built it for use underwater or in harsh conditions that will expose the motor to water or to corrosive chemicals. Its other standard features include roller vanes and full-flow spline lubrication.

Other technical specifications for this torque motor:

  • Fifteen displacements from 36 to 390 cubic centimetres per revolution;
  • Maximum pressure of 125 bar (continuous operation) or 165 bar (intermittent operation);
  • Maximum oil flow of 57 litres per minute;
  • Maximum speed of 932 revolutions per minute;
  • Maximum torque of 226 Newton metres; and
  • Maximum side load at key of 1,340 Newtons.

Wainbee distributes 15 different models of the Torqmotor TS Series. Each offers a maximum supply pressure of 2,750 psig, while maximum performance ranges from 3.4 to 10.2 kilowatts. Minimum starting torque runs from 36 to 191 Newton metres (continuous) or 50 to 191 Newton metres (intermittent). Each intermittent-operation rating applies to ten per cent of every minute.

The flange of the front housing includes a 5/16-24 straight thread o-ring drain port, which the user connects to the reservoir. This port relieves pressure in the polypropylene rear cover if a motor-section seal leak occurs. As the shaft is made from 316 stainless steel one-inch keyed shaft, its torque is limited to 2,000 inch-pounds. Other shaft types or shaft taper locks will increase allowable shaft torque.
