Baghouse controls by Auburn Systems help plants keep particulate emissions low.

Firing Industries offers world-class industrial solutions by major manufacturers, including baghouse control systems by Auburn Systems. These baghouse controls help plants keep particulate emissions low while complying with regulations and minimizing maintenance and downtime. Baghouse management is difficult, and companies often have trouble committing resources to optimize baghouse environments efficiently. With Auburn’s help, plants can suffer less wasted time and maintenance expense.

Advanced diagnostics and life extension

Auburn Systems identifies three major ways that its baghouse controls help customers satisfy regulatory requirements while increasing efficiency:

1) Advanced filter leak, solenoid, and diaphragm diagnostics.
Unplanned baghouse maintenance is expensive and often results in operational shutdown. Auburn baghouse control systems help to eliminate unplanned downtime by providing insight into filter performance and notification of impending failures in advance. These systems monitor and analyze dust-collector emissions to predict failure, allowing for corrective action at a more convenient time. Additionally, identifying and isolating filter failures down to the row and compartment helps these systems show where the excursion is happening while closing down that section until the filter is repaired. The systems also identify solenoid and diaphragm failures in real time, enabling replacement before too much compressed air is wasted. Significant time and cost is saved this way.

2) Extension of filter media life.
Filter media life usually depends on the number of cleaning cycles – reduction of which can extend the lifespans of baghouse filters. With Auburn’s baghouse optimization systems from Firing Industries, plants can clean compartments and filters only when necessary to maintain the target differential pressure. This extends filter life due to on-demand cleaning.

3) Automating regulatory inspection requirements.
Many plants need to comply with EPA, OSHA, and/or NFPA regulations, but following manual inspection guidelines requires manual labour and time. Auburn baghouse controls use automation and a combination of differential pressure control and particulate monitoring to ensure constant compliance. As a result, manual inspections of DP gauges and visual inspections of dust-collector emissions are no longer necessary – and plant employees now have more time for other projects and duties.
