The Marion V-Cone tumble blender

Marion Process Solutions equipment is available from Firing Industries Ltd., including products for the chemical-processing sector. The manufacturer offers extensive application and design expertise to help customers with chemical-processing challenges. Businesses can select from a healthy portfolio of process mixers for this industry, some of which last for decades.

As creators of three popular chemical mixers (V-Cone blenders, Double-Cone blenders, and batch mixers) the Marion team is available to discuss customers’ chemical-processing needs.

Processing consistency and efficiency

While mixer options depend on specific environments and applications, Marion knows businesses are always seeking processing consistency and efficiency. Features like footprint, capacity, safety features, energy consumption, maintenance, or loading options depend on the compounds to be mixed. The chemicals have traits that will determine the most appropriate mixer design.

The V-Cone tumble blender has a tumble mixer with a V-shape that achieves high performance while providing maximum cleaning ability. This design also means no internal moving parts, which create pockets or product buildup. Recommended most for mixes of no more than 10 ingredients, this device withstands the most abrasive materials, with gentle blending that is ideal for delicate product. Other advantages include design with maximum cleanout, high mix quality and consistency, and the ability to mix abrasive and delicate materials.

Firing Industries also carries Marion’s Double-Cone tumble blender, which uses a tumbling motion with a small footprint. Easy cleanout, valued by manufacturers who switch between batches frequently, is another important feature. The mix action enables simple mixing of large and small ingredients, and the gentler, low-impact tumbling action is also recommended for mixing flavouring, colouring, and other trace components.

Often used for larger mixes, batch mixers have a design that enables flexibility with customizing batch needs. The batch requires precisely controlled ratios of ingredients that go into each mix. Marion batch mixers come in sizes from 1½ to 600 cubic feet and are customized with features specific to the batch; for instance, Marion can change trough geometry, agitator design, mainshaft seals, cover design, and discharge and add accessories.
