Continental Conveyor Ltd. continues to serve customers across Canada as a one-stop shop for material-handling solutions and related products after nearly six decades in business. But the company manufactures more than just complete conveyor systems. It also offers a full range of individual conveyor parts, components, and accessories in its lineup.
From idlers to specialty rubber products, these conveyor components are perfect for customers who would rather replace specific parts than invest in whole new material-handling systems.
Two models of belt idlers
Three main kinds of conveyor components are available from Continental: belt conveyor idlers, belt conveyor pulleys, and conveyor covers. Belt conveyor idlers come in two different models, Series 25000 and Series 30000, both of which are designed for continuous operation, high capacities, and heavy abrasive material. Series 30000 idlers are fitted with heavy concentric tubing, combination contact and labyrinth seals, oversized shafts, heavy stamped end discs, deep-grooved ball bearings, and stamped bearings, and seal retainers. All of these idlers have rolls with diameters of five or six inches and belt widths of up to five feet. Examples available include flat-belt-carrying rubber-cushion, training, picking-roll, and troughing idlers.
Belt conveyor pulleys are also available. The company designs all of these conveyor parts to comply with stringent standard specifications. Variations in Continental’s portfolio are lagged-wing pulleys, spiral-drum pulleys, and spiral-wing pulleys. Lagged-wing pulleys provide great tractive capacity while minimizing wear from material buildup. Spiral-drum pulleys reduce belt wear and misalignment, while spiral-wing pulleys have self-cleaning ability. Continental can customize these products according to client requirements by altering specifications.
Conveyor covers, the third main category, are units that minimize damage to belts and idlers, prevent material loss, and boost worker safety by protecting material and other components. Continental systems have specialized mounting brackets, extended sides to enclose return belt runs, symmetrical design for quick and easy installation, and wide support bands to stop gaps.
The Continental team also manufactures impact cassettes and specialty rubber items. Whatever material-handling needs a customer may have, whether big or small, the company’s large and diverse component portfolio has the appropriate solution.
