The three different series

These units are made from red, low-density polyethylene, and the MOCAP crew adds knurled grips that make them easier to apply. A key advantage is the seals, which are stronger than ones on caps from competitors and can be applied with simple hand tightening. Although used most commonly for protection purposes, threaded caps are also suitable for masking tasks in plating and painting applications.

The three different series of threaded caps available:

• BGC series – designed for British Standard Pipe threads and fittings ranging from 1/8-28 to 1-1/12-11. MOCAP offers 13 sizes in the BGC series, going from 9.6 to 27.6 millimetres (mm) in length and four to eight in rib count.
• CMT series – built for metric threads and fittings that run from M8 to M52. There are 20 different sizes available, and they range from ten to 16 mm in length and from four to eight in rib count.
• FJC series – constructed for flared JIC fittings that range from 3/8-24 to 1-7/8 and 3/16 to 1½ tubes. MOCAP offers 33 sizes in the FJC series, going in tube sizes from 4.8 to 38.1 mm, in lengths from 7.6 to 25.4 mm, and in rib count from four to eight.
