foam product development

CFS relies on a highly skilled team to make foam.

Custom Foam Systems Ltd. (CFS) has a unique approach to custom foam product development that helps make Canadian businesses more productive and competitive. The company is fully committed to manufacturing only the highest-quality foam components that will function at their peak in all applications – using a special five-stage development process.

Emphasizing feedback assessment and corrective action all the way through, this development process makes sure that the result always surpasses client expectations.

Broad scope of technical knowledge

To get everything right, CFS has a skilled team of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) experts that provide a full range of product-development support services. Since each project is unique, it requires serious development support and expertise tailored to solving the application’s specific challenges. The CFS APQP crew offers a wide scope of technical knowledge in production, tooling, design, and material.

The APQP team begins with the customer’s CAD drawing or rendering and embarks on five stages of custom foam product development – concept initial approval, program approval, prototype, pilot, and launch. The first stage involves planning and defining the program. Planning continues during the following step, program approval, when the team verifies the product design and development. Product and process validation begin shortly after this stage.

The prototype stage comes next. This involves verifying the process design and development. When the product prototype is tested and approved, the manufacturing process begins. The next step is to make the product pilot, which also marks the last stages of process design and development and involves product and process validation. The product launch is the final stage of custom foam product development, after any required feedback assessment and corrective action.

CFS always puts the highest priorities on greater value and product support. The company’s highly talented APQP team is always well versed on the latest materials, techniques, standards, and industry knowledge. The group pursues alliances with forward-thinking vendors to broaden and improve collaboration on design, development, and delivery of products. With research and development of new polyurethane processes and product application technology, clients always yield the most advanced solutions.
