custom foam product development

CFS employs a unique product development process.

Custom Foam Systems Ltd. (CFS) helps make Canadian businesses more competitive and productive with its unique approach to custom foam product development. The company fully dedicates itself to producing only the highest-quality foam components that will function at their peak in all applications. To achieve this, CFS practises a special five-stage development process that emphasizes feedback assessment and corrective action all the way through, to ensure that the result always exceeds customer expectations.

Advanced Product Quality Planning

To get everything right, CFS employs a skilled team of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) experts who offer a complete range of product-development support services. Because every project is unique, it needs serious development support and expertise tailored to solving the application’s individual challenges. The APQP team provides a broad scope of technical knowledge in materials, design, tooling, and production.

Starting with the customer’s CAD drawing or rendering, the APQP team embarks on five stages of custom foam product development: concept initial approval, program approval, prototype, pilot, and launch. The first stage involves planning and defining the program. Planning continues during the next step, program approval, during which the team verifies the product design and development. Product and process validation begins shortly after this stage does.

Next comes the prototype stage, which involves verification of the process design and development. Once the product prototype is tested and approved, the manufacturing process begins. The following step is to create the product pilot, which also marks the final stages of process design and development and involves product and process validation. The final stage of custom foam product development is the product launch, following by any necessary feedback assessment and corrective action.

Greater value and product support are always high priorities at CFS. The company’s highly skilled APQP team is up to date on the latest materials, techniques, standards, and industry knowledge. The crew pursues alliances with forward-thinking vendors to broaden and improve collaboration on design, development, and delivery of products. Add research and development of new polyurethane processes and product application technology, and customers always get the most advanced solutions.
