The Shinko JIR-301 line of industrial monitors

Shinko Technos is dedicated to meeting the needs of businesses by developing a variety of instruments for process measurement and control, and these products are available in Canada via Mod-Tronic Instruments Ltd. A key example is the JIR-301 series of temperature and process monitors, each measuring 96 by 48 millimetres.

The JIR-301 line includes such standard features as multiple inputs, retransmission, and three standard programmable alarm outputs – all at the lowest price available.

With large dual LED display

Offered in a standard 1/8 DIN size, these digital indicators come with NEMA 4X protective construction and black enclosures. The multi-input capabilities of each instrument accommodate ten thermocouple types, two types of resistance temperature detectors (RTDs), two current inputs, and four voltage inputs. Each unit also has standard 4-20mA process variable retransmission, and optional outputs are available.

Another key feature of the JIR-301 series is a large dual LED display, with four red digits for PV and four green digits for the alarms. Shinko manufactures all these monitors according to stringent ISO standards, and they meet the strict criteria of the Underwriters Laboratories and CE safety standards too. Each is available from Mod-Tronic with a full three-year manufacturer’s warranty and lifetime technical support, as the most advanced price/performance package on the market at a low cost.

Weighing roughly 300 grams, each of these monitors can accommodate thermocouple inputs K, J, R, S, B, E, T, C, N, and PL-II, and input switching is achieved via a six-point button switch with a black button head. The devices are made of flame-resistant resin, and the mounting bracket is a one-touch type with panel thickness between one and three millimetres. Among the other technical specifications:

  • Accuracy: within 0.2 per cent of each input span for thermocouples, DC current, and DC voltage; within 0.1 per cent of each input span for RTDs.
  • Input sampling rate: ¼ of a second.
  • Ambient temperature range: minus ten to 50 degrees Celsius.
  • Ambient humidity range: 35 to 85 per cent RH (no condensation).
  • Setting method: sheet key input.
  • Dielectric strength: 1½-kilovolt AC for one minute.
