The Teledyne HVG-2020A digital vacuum gauge

Durham Instruments works with many major suppliers to bring the world’s top test and measurement devices to Canadian manufacturers – including Teledyne Hastings. For example, the HVG-2020A digital vacuum gauge is a media-isolated, gas-composition-independent, piezo-resistive unit that gives users highly accurate pressure measurement through the rough vacuum region. Highly flexible and easy to install, this unique vacuum gauge offers both analog and digital output to integrate into process control easily.

Wide range of output signals

With an optional display that offers several different views or modes of operation, the HVG-2020A allows users to choose from a wide range of output signals. This makes the digital vacuum gauge the perfect substitute for a more expensive capacitance manometer. The digital output can include RS232 and RS 485 through a small jack located on top of the instrument, and certain models also offer a USB connection, in order to make connection and operation simpler. For data logging for the device, Teledyne Hastings offers free Windows data-acquisition software.

The HVG-2020A digital vacuum gauge offers other major features and specifications: a range of 0.1 to 1,000 Torr; an accuracy of plus or minus (0.1 per cent of reading plus ½ Torr); wetted materials (304 and 316 stainless steel) for media isolation; 0-1 VDC, 0-5 VDC, 0-10 VDC linear; 0-20 mA, 4-20 mA linear; RS232/RS485; status LEDs; multiple views, such as pressure versus time plot, bar graph, and set-point status; NIST traceable calibration; and certificate/data-sheet option.

A versatile device, the HVG-2020A gauge works well for rough vacuum monitoring, semiconducting, laser systems, chemical research, air sampling, central vacuum monitoring, oil reprocessing, medical research, and many other industrial applications. Durham Instruments deems it suitable for use in general manufacturing, aerospace, automation, food processing, education, packaging, power generation, alternative energy, and transportation.
