Sandpiper is a major producer of air-operated double-diaphragm (AODD) pumps, available through York Fluid Controls. The lineup includes the S20 and S30 models of standard-duty ball valve pumps, which reach new heights in flow rates, low air consumption, and user savings. These metallic units are the most efficient, economical AODD pumps on the market and the result of an engineering evolution by Sandpiper – optimal performance that does not sacrifice reliability.
Less air required to operate
The Sandpiper S20 model is a world leader in maximum flow rate. This metallic AODD pump offers a capacity up to 32 per cent higher than those of competing pumps, which enables faster production. The S30 unit needs up to 56 per cent less air to operate, decreasing the load on any compressed-air system and resulting in lower operating expenses.
Both of these standard-duty ball valve pumps from York Fluid Controls are compatible with intermittent/on-demand, portable, moderately abrasive liquids and suspended solids. Sandpiper constructs these models out of aluminum, cast iron, stainless steel, and non-metallic materials such as PTFE, polypropylene, and PVDF with thermal plastic elastomers, in addition to PTFE options in diaphragms and check valves. These pumps offer up to 2½ times more gallons per cubic foot of supplied air. With their efficiency and economy, they can save as much as $3,500 per year in operating costs for a business.
Among the specifications for the S20 model: port size of two inches Universal Flange; capacity from zero to 605 litres per minute; solids handling of up to 17 millimetres; heads up to 100 pounds per square inch (psi), or 70 metres of water; maximum operating pressure of 100 psi; and displacement/stroke of 1.73 litres.
The S30 series of standard-duty ball valve pumps have these specifications: port size of three inches, NPT or BSP (tapered), ANSI flange or DIN flange; capacity from zero to 1,078 litres per minute; solids handling of up to 9.65 millimetres; heads up to 125 psi, or 88 metres of water; maximum operating pressure of 125 psi; and displacement/stroke of 3.56 litres.
