EXAIR’s line of cabinet coolers are a low-cost, reliable way to cool and purge electronic control panels, eliminating costly downtime associated with heat, dirt and moisture. The newest addition to the product family, the Small 316 Stainless Steel Cabinet Cooler System, provides the same reliability thanks to its digital control, but in a more compact package.

Electronic temperature control

One of the key features of the new cooler is its Electronic Temperature Control, or ETC, which keeps electrical enclosures cool with -7 degrees C (20 degrees F) air. At the same time, the ETC enables the unit to maintain the NEMA 4X rating of the enclosure and resist heat that could adversely affect the internal components. The ETC accurately maintains a constant temperature in the electrical enclosure that is slightly under the maximum rating of the electronics. It permits just enough cooling for the electronics without going so cold as to waste compressed air. A digital LED readout displays the temperature of the electrical enclosure, then displays the user temperature setting when pressing the “push to set” button. When that setting is exceeded, the Cabinet Cooler System is activated.

Rugged construction

The unit’s stainless steel construction is another key component. The wear-, corrosion- and oxidation-resistance of Type 316 stainless steel assures long life and maintenance-free operation, which results in major savings for the user. In addition, the fact that there are no moving parts to wear out also increases the unit’s life, resulting in savings.

Multiple cooling capacities

Small 316 Stainless Steel Cabinet Cooler Systems are available with cooling capacities up to 550 Btu/hr. for small enclosures and heat loads; however, models with higher cooling capacities up to 5,600 Btu/hr. for NEMA 12, 4 and 4X enclosures are also available.

Additional details

These units are UL listed and CE compliant, and come with an automatic drain filter separator to ensure no moisture passes to the inside of the electrical enclosure. They can be installed in minutes through a standard electrical knockout, so that they can begin immediately cooling control panels used in such industries as food processing, pharmaceutical, foundries, chemical processing and other corrosive locations.
