The SMT MONI LOG MicroShockDetector

Durham Instruments is a proud supplier of world-class measurement devices manufactured by SMT Elektronik. This lineup includes the MONI LOG MicroShockDetector, a compact, lightweight data logger. This shock detector is smaller than a Smartphone, weighing only 180 grams, yet reliably stores a vast amount of data.

The MONI LOG MicroShockDetector records the 200 highest shock events with curve plots and stores up to ten curve plots of the highest shocks.

Storing info in three axes

High-sensitivity devices – such as large, superconducting magnets used for medical applications, for example – require safe, demonstrable protection during transport and storage. This shock detector has a limit-value monitoring function that replaces more expensive, high-end data loggers without any loss to measurement data. Durham Instruments recommends this micro-measuring device highly for use in several different industries, including general manufacturing, aerospace, the military, power generation, alternative energy, and transportation.

The MONI LOG MicroShockDetector reliably stores all shock information in three axes, sets the collected data into acceleration classes, supplies curve plots, and activates an LED alarm as soon as the device exceeds limit values, as it monitors temperature constantly. The shock detector also has a switch-on time that is easy to configure, and users can read, configure, and evaluate all data on a personal computer with the assistance of the USB support.

Operators can mount and remove this micro-measuring device quickly by using its adhesive pad, screws, or the supplied set of magnetic adhering feet. It is justifiable to use the unit only once, on the basis of the good environmental and economical parameters. Other features and advantages of the MicroShockDetector include the following:

  • smart signal filtering and evaluation;
  • user-friendliness and simple operation;
  • long operational time, independent of mains;
  • licence-free PC software for configuration and assessment; and
  • customized configuration for recording time span over Start-Stop period.

The device has an IP67 protection rating and can operate in a temperature range from -40 to 65 degrees Celsius, with a maximum of 98 per cent relative humidity. It has plastic housing with a stainless steel base.
