servo press kit

Festo’s new all-in-one YJKP modular servo press kit is the essence of simplicity. The spindle axis, mounting kit and servo are combined as a single application-specific module, which makes integration into an application fast and easy.

Festo Canada is helping manufacturers get press-fit applications up in virtually no time with its newest automation innovation: the YJKP modular servo press kit. This economical, all-in-one unit is the epitome of simplicity as it delivers a high level of precision and repeated accuracy to give users a great price-to-performance ratio.

Pre-assembled and pre-tested before purchase, the YJKP servo press kit is quick and easy to integrate into any relevant application.

Up to 17 kilonewtons

The YJKP consists of numerous components, including an electric spindle drive, a motor controller, and a force sensor and control system. All of these parts are ideally matched to deliver forces as high as 17 kilonewtons, and the spindle axis, mounting kit, and service blend into a single application-specific module. A special-order version of this unit, with a force range of up to 44 kilonewtons, is also available from Festo.

This servo press kit has modular software that includes application-specific functions for up to 15 common tasks, such as bending, stamping, crimping, securing, riveting, punching, and straightening, as well as press-fitting connectors on PCBs. No prior training or education is required to parameterize the device, as the software is intuitive and very simple to use. The YJKP can be used with a web visualization tool, laptop, tablet, or any other human-machine interface, and it is compatible with all major platforms.

The YJKP has multiple configuration options. These include a range of stroke lengths from 100 to 400 millimetres, axial or parallel motor attachment, a motor with or without a holding brake, single- or multi-turn encoders, and the proper cable lengths for the job to prevent any waste. The kit is also adaptable to Industry 4.0 systems, due to the press controller’s CPC-UA interface. Users can exchange control and process information with higher order controllers over an Ethernet interface as soon as the press controller has been integrated into a local network.
