card loks

Gould Fasteners carries Schroff's line of High Clamp Force card loks.

Gould Fasteners remains a top Canadian source for fastening and hardware products from dozens of manufacturers – including Schroff, known for innovative card loks. Last year, Schroff upgraded its line of High Clamp Force (HC) card loks to serve the military and aerospace sectors more effectively, by engineering them to comply with current requirements for Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) and second-level maintenance.

Because military equipment is often exposed to harsh environments, its highly technological and sensitive electronics could be damaged by high temperature, dust, moisture, shock, or vibration. Schroff’s SWaP-compliant HC card loks are ideal for printed circuit board retention and thermal management for surveillance, artillery, drones, and other military and aerospace equipment.

Three times the clamp force

Schroff HC card loks offer three times the clamp force of traditional card loks. This enables not only stronger board retention, but also greater protection against shock and vibration. The manufacturer has reduced the wedge angle to 30 degrees, which increases the mechanical advantage and transfers more force into the clamp for the same torque. Recommended for cold wall applications, these card loks all are available with black anodized, hard black anodized, or electroless nickel plating; they also have flexible mounting options and a five-segment shafted design.

Gould Fasteners distributes four different designs of Schroff’s upgraded HC card loks:

  • Series 260HC. Profile measures 6.35 by 6.86 millimetres (mm); weight of 0.95 grams per centimetre (g/cm); average clamp force of 868 pounds.
  • Series 263HC. Similar to the 260HC, but with a profile of 6.35 by 7.44 mm, weight of 1.07 g/cm. Average clamp force of 911 pounds. The narrower, more lightweight profile is perfect for retaining PCBs that are densely populated within the enclosure.
  • Series 265HC. Profile measures 5.72 by 5.84 mm; weight of 0.89 g/cm; average clamp force of 1,091 pounds. Can function as a drop-in replacement for most Series 265 applications.
  • Series 267HC. Profile measures 6.35 by five mm; weight of 0.75 g/cm; average clamp force of 1,025 pounds. Screw-actuated. Can function as a drop-in replacement for most Series 267 applications.

The HC card lok is just one of the many great Schroff industrial products available from Gould Fasteners. From indoor and outdoor cabinets to subracks, chassis, and protective modules, Gould has many essential needs covered.
