Wainbee Limited offers the full range of industrial solutions by Schmalz, one of the world’s leading producers in automation, handling, and clamping technology. The lineup includes vacuum components for pick and place, robotic end effectors, packaging, palletizing, and assembly, as well as ergonomic vacuum lifting systems and clamping systems. Schmalz also manufactures an innovative line of finger grippers. With a rounded design based on the human hand, these flexible, gentle, and low-marking grippers handle a broad variety of tasks.
Perfect for the food industry
The food-processing sector is a field in which these units are ideal, especially for transferring products into trays, quality control, or other applications that involve direct contact with food. The slim finger design enables close placement of small products together, such as in a sushi lunch box. These grippers can handle chicken legs, apples, and other organic products with deviating shapes and characteristics. Schmalz also recommends them for use in logistics for picking small parts in packaging, like nets or bags, and in automated systems that process various items.
Each of these finger grippers is designed with a compact base body made of aluminum or optional PET-P with flange for connector to common robots. A pneumatic connection supplies pressure or vacuum for the device to open and close its fingers, and a second pneumatic connection supplies a bellows suction cup to control suction and blow-off. Users can variably align the three fingers to achieve parallel picks, both inwards and outwards, and the finger connection prevents long-term contamination according to relevant guidelines. Each unit is available as a combination gripper with a centred bellows suction cup for stronger gripping force and stabilization during every transfer.
Schmalz finger grippers are available from Wainbee in an optional hygienic design, making them appropriate for direct food handling. The flexible finger connection enables the realization of various gripping patterns with just one tool, while the slim fingers allow the unit to handle closely positioned work pieces. The user can flexibly adjust the opening angle, gripping force, and finger positions.
