ELS has a history of high customer satisfaction.

Engineered Lifting Systems & Equipment Inc. (ELS) provides standard and custom overhead material lifting systems and equipment, while exceeding the expectations of their customers. One such customer is an automotive manufacturer of torsion bar springs, who decided to replace their ELS bridge crane after 33 years of continuous operation.

ELS (formerly Mentor Dynamics) supplied and installed a double-girder bridge crane with lifting magnets for the automotive manufacturer. The crane had been a critical part of the company’s operation, handling raw materials in their facility. The company knew the crane was coming to the end of its lifespan and preemptively inquired about a replacement. The crane had received regular maintenance and had been repaired with readily available parts, as is typical of all ELS cranes. Since the original crane served them so well, the company asked ELS to supply them with a modernized version.

To begin modernizing the crane’s design, ELS referenced the archived Engineering drawings. Design upgrades were applied to the end trucks, trolley drives, and class D hoists. The bridge trolley and hoists featured variable frequency drives (VFDs) for smooth lifting motions. The design of the operator’s cab, controls, lighting, and magnet lifting beam were similar to the old design; however, improvements were applied to their functionality. One of the major improvements was realized when the crane’s electrical panels were mounted onto the moving hoist trolleys and the cabling was positioned to ensure there would be minimal strain and flexing.

ELS conducted load tests to verify the capacity of the crane, and certification was provided to the customer. Upon completion, ELS was confident the crane would serve well into the future, and once again, the customer was satisfied with the ELS product, service, and expertise.
