York Fluid Controls offers the MSA2, MSA2-B, and MSA2-C pumps by Sandpiper.

York Fluids Controls supplies a wide range of high-quality pump products strong enough to handle tough working environments. For example, Sandpiper manufactures three different pump models – the MSA2, the MSA2-B, and the MSA2-C – that are built specifically for the rigorous conditions of the mining and construction industries. These mining and construction pumps are ideal solutions for these worksites, where durability and reliability are absolutely essential.

Remove fluids in a hurry

Sandpiper has constructed the MSA2, MSA2-B, and MSA2-C pumps to be tossed, dragged, and crammed into position so that users can remove the liquids they need in a hurry, with more ways than one. These mining and construction pumps also employ the air-operated double-diaphragm (AODD) design, which gives them many advantages over rival pump technologies. For example, they can pump any fluids, from pure water to those that are 90 per cent solids, without damage. They can also work as slowly as one gallon per minute, and they require no electricity and are less expensive.

These three models of mining pumps and construction pumps come with very attractive features. They are easy to use, with superior on-off-on reliability and built-in handles to simplify movement; they also have base mounting options, such as skid mount, roll cage, and strainer bases. Most importantly, these pumps give top performance, and York Fluid Controls offers high-flow and solids-size options.

Specifications of the MSA2, MSA2-B, and MSA2-C include the following: port size of two inches NPT; capacity from zero to 530 litres per minute; an air-distribution valve with a no-lube, no-stall design; solids handling of up to 50 millimetres; heads up to 125 pounds per square inch (psi), or 86 metres of water; displacement/stroke of 530 litres; and maximum operating pressure of 125 psi.

For installation and start-up, Sandpiper recommends locating these pumps as close as possible to the product being pumped, while minimizing the suction-line length and number of fittings. Reducing the suction-line diameter should be avoided. To start the pump, open the air-shutoff valve slightly, then open the air valve to increase the airflow as required.
