wastewater pumps

York Fluid Controls supplies many designs of Sandpiper wastewater pumps.

York Fluid Controls supplies many air-operated double-diaphragm (AODD) pumps by Sandpiper, serving as the Ontario stocking distributor. These devices work in many important industries, from chemicals and construction to oil and gas and the automotive sector. Sandpiper also produces various kinds of wastewater pumps.

For the wastewater market, Sandpiper recommends four styles of pumps: heavy-duty flap, submersible centrifugal, filter press systems, and standard wastewater pumps.

Meeting high safety standards

Sandpiper AODD pumps are the perfect pick for many important wastewater applications. Among these tasks: filter press; municipal utility (portable); neutralization of wastewater; waste-activated sludge; return-activated sludge; thickened sludge; belt press feed; grit; screenings; scum; polymer flocculation; clarifier sludge; and digested sludge. Another advantage of these pump units is that they meet strict international safety standards, including those of ATEX and the European CE marker.

Two models of Sandpiper generic wastewater pumps are available from York Fluid Controls: the W09 metallic two-inch pump (0-786 litres per minute) and the W15 metallic three-inch pump (0-1,147 litres per minute). Designed specifically for slurry and solids-laden material, these non-clog pumps have swing-check valves and easy-access cleanouts. Flap valves enable passage of suspended, pipe-size solids and stringy material.

Other benefits of the W09 and W15: cast iron construction; durable epoxy coating, both internally and externally, for corrosion resistance and long operational life; flap access ports for fast, easy cleaning of diaphragm chambers; and flush valves that allow pump cleaning just by hooking up a hose.

Also very useful in this sector are Sandpiper’s heavy-duty flap pumps. This includes three Evolution air distribution systems, offering optimized performance, and other metallic and non-metallic pumps. These units are recommended for abrasive slurries, suspended or non-suspended solids, and line-size solids. All are configured with bottom discharge porting to stop solids from settling.

Sandpiper’s built-to-order multi-pump systems combine high-volume fill pumps with high-pressure feed pumps. These systems are typically used in filter press feed applications.
