SAMES first opened shop in France in 1947.

Today, SAMES KREMLIN, developers of Europe’s first airspray gun, is an international leader in automation, devoted to providing industrial solutions for productivity, quality improvement, and efficiency. With solutions ranging from innovative products and spare parts to repairs, training, and testing, SAMES KREMLIN keeps on making manufacturers more competitive.

This dedication to industrial solutions is not just a mission, but also a tradition. SAMES KREMLIN has been in this game for more than 90 years and expects to be in it for many more.

Europe’s first airspray gun

It all began in Paris in 1924, when a fledgling company known as KREMLIN introduced the first airspray gun for finishing in Europe. The gun’s runaway success soon led to other manufacturers’ similar tools being dubbed “Kremlins”. Twenty-three years later, a new French business called SAMES began producing electrostatic instruments for industrial use.

As the years went by, both companies kept on breaking new ground in their fields of technology. KREMLIN launched its airless spraying guns in 1950, and in 1975, it introduced the Airmix, a spraying tool that achieved high-quality finishing with high transfer efficiency for reduced overspray. In the mid-1990s, KREMLIN launched the Flowmax, a double-acting piston pump with packing-free technology and a bellow seal. Other innovative instruments included the Cylcomix in 2001, the Xcite Airmix gun in 2009, and Airless liquid-feeding pumps in the same year.

SAMES also explored new technological territory during those decades. In 1970, it launched the world’s first industrial powder coating manual gun, the JR50. In 1993 came INOBELL, SAMES’ unique bell technology for powder applications, and the following year, the company introduced ACUBELL, an innovative technology for water-based paint applications. The 21st Century brought along other SAMES breakthroughs, such as the PVV EasyColor, the first powder quick colour change booth, and the PPH 707 THV, a high-speed robotic instrument.

It was inevitable that these two international giants of the airspray world would team up. In 2015, they collaborated to produce the Nanogun, a high-end gun using both spray and electrostatic technologies. Today, SAMES KREMLIN offers six product ranges and several services to manufacturing companies worldwide.
