COVID-19 lockdown

Endress+Hauser plans to observe strict protocols on the road back to normal.

Endress+Hauser Canada Ltd. has made customer and employee safety its top priority during the COVID-19 lockdown. Now, the company is preparing to ease restrictions and take new steps towards normalization of its business activities. The process is expected to take several months, and the Endress+Hauser team has designed a series of specific protocols for all in-person interactions over this period. In the end, business relationships with customers and suppliers should be stronger and more resilient than ever.

No handshaking or touching

As the COVID-19 lockdown continues, Endress+Hauser will engage in responsible business practices to ensure employee and customer safety, while helping to reduce the spread of the virus and prevent any further outbreak. All employees will wear masks in the workplace; they will also take their temperatures daily and call in sick if necessary. To achieve two-metre social distancing, some employees will continue to work from home. Warehouse personnel will conduct modified procedures to reduce interaction with delivery drivers. All incoming shipments will be quarantined before being sent to customers, and distribution areas will be off-limits to non-warehouse staff.

The following customer-interaction protocols will also take place during the COVID-19 lockdown:

  • Customers will be asked if they are prepared for in-person visits;
  • Personnel from Endress+Hauser will review and comply with safety measures at customer sites;
  • In-person meetings will be cancelled and changed to digital platforms if employees have temperatures above 37.8 degrees Celsius;
  • Employees will use hand sanitizer before entering or leaving any building;
  • No more handshaking, touching, or exchange of business cards;
  • Physical distancing of at least two metres will be maintained;
  • Employees will always wear masks;
  • Customers and distributors are expected to wear masks or face shields. This will be discussed before every meeting to ensure mutual commitment, and if this requirement is not possible, the meeting will be changed to a digital platform;
  • Provincial and federal guidelines will be observed regarding the maximum number of attendees allowed; and
  • All product samples will be shipped directly to customers, to minimize all touch points before receipt.
