High Performance C9578 System coal tar epoxy

For the top selection of industrial paints and coatings across the country, smart businesses look no further than the lineup available from Rust-Oleum Canada. The company offers a wide range of epoxies for different applications – such as its High Performance C9578 System coal tar epoxy, for severe industrial and marine environments.

The C9578 System coal tar epoxy achieves maximum surface protection while forming an extremely durable coating every time.

Protection from abrasion, chemicals, water

As a high-solids, polyamide-covered epoxy that includes refined coal tar pitch, the C9578 System epoxy is built to protect surfaces from severe abrasion, strong chemicals, and immersion in non-potable water. The Rust-Oleum team recommends this solution highly for use as a heavy-duty topcoat on steel, concrete, and other surfaces in extremely corrosive environments. This is a two-component system, so for best results, the customer needs to order the base and the activator separately. The base comes in a black colour, while the activator is available in white.

Available in two sizes – in 3.7 or 18.9 litres – the C9578 System coal tar epoxy is a self-priming, high-build coating that achieves between 16 and 24 mils in a single coat. It also complies with strict specifications – specifically, the Corps of Engineers Specs C-200 and C-200A, the Steel Tank Institute Corrosion Control System STI-P3, the AWWA Spec C210-84, and the SSPC-Paint 16 standards. Rust-Oleum offers a two-year rust-proof guarantee with this product, for maximum corrosion protection.

Rust-Oleum recommends storing the C9578 System epoxy in a dry, well-ventilated area and keeping the container closed tightly when not in use. The epoxy should not be stored or used in temperatures above 49 degrees Celsius. The epoxy is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents, strong acids, and strong alkalis. Users should wash thoroughly after handling this solution and wash hands before eating, and adequate ventilation is essential for applications that use this epoxy.

For more than a century, Rust-Oleum has remained a world leader in protective paints and coatings. Other products available include aerosols, flooring, and cleaners. The company offers an innovative and cutting-edge solution for every challenge.
