The HygroLab laboratory analyzer by Rotronic

Chevrier Instruments Inc. supplies high-end test and measurement instrumentation by Rotronic – including the innovative HygroLab laboratory analyzer. Recommended for use in the food-processing, pharmaceutical, chemical, and cosmetics industries, this device can measure water activity with up to four measurement probe units. With the proven AW Quick function, which typically offers results in four or five minutes, the HygroLab offers simultaneous or asynchronous measurement for pharmaceuticals, tobacco, coffee, foods, and many other products.

With a modern user interface

The HygroLab has an innovative, standalone modern user interface for clear, simple water-activity measurement, and it is operated with a high-quality, seven-inch touchscreen. Users can connect the water-activity meter to the Internet for remote control through a PC or tablet, enabling observation of measurements and downloading of reports from anywhere, anytime.

Typical AW measurement can take as long as an hour, but with this laboratory analyzer from Chevrier, the process takes a few minutes with automatic generation and saving of a report every time. Other key features include four USB ports (for mouse and keyboard use) and a four-channel bench-top display unit for measuring water activity, relative humidity, and temperature.

Users can easily update firmware over the Internet and share protocols via e-mail or downloads, and adding a WiFi stick adds extra possibilities. Rotronic has built a stable housing with robust materials like aluminum, ABS, and stainless steel, and the back has magnetic attachment for the included pen. Other advantages of using the HygroLab laboratory analyzer:

  • high accuracy – plus or minus 0.008 Aw at 23 degrees Celsius;
  • fast, easy operation;
  • personal setting of a set-point for quick, simple result output;
  • regular software updates with enhanced functions, which can be downloaded directly;
  • the possibility of calibrating probes; and
  • conformity with the standards of the United States Food and Drug Administration.

Connections for this device include four HC2 connectors for HC2-AW and HC2A-S probes, two USB 2.0 connectors, and two USB 3.0 (Type A) devices for connecting mouses or extra keyboards. There is an Ethernet (LAN) port for Internet access and a power-supply port for the AC adapter.
