Medium, heavy, and extreme duty

Gorman-Rupp rotary gear pumps work on a positive-displacement principle. Each has a casing in which a crescent assembly is housed with an outer rotor gear and internal idler gear. When the rotor starts to turn, the idler gear rotates and the teeth mesh accordingly. Fluid is drawn in and displaced by the space between the gears and the meshing. The crescent shape offsets the idler gear while providing a seal between the discharge ports and the suction.

York Fluid Controls offers three types of rotary gear pumps by Gorman-Rupp: medium, heavy, and extreme duty. The G series of medium-duty pumps is rated to 200 psi and offers a flexible, economical solution for demanding applications, with pumps designed to process clean-liquid applications usually reserved for more expensive heavy-duty pumps. Two styles of medium-duty pumps are available: the GMC series, which connects directly to other pieces of equipment to provide an extremely compact system design, and the GMS series, available with head and backhead jackets for temperature control and other conditions.

Rated to 400 psid, the G series of heavy-duty pumps include the most capable, versatile gear pumps in industry today. These are designed for the most demanding clean-liquid applications, blending high-performance materials with innovative design to outperform all other similar pumps. The GHS series has high-capacity pumps ideal for bulk handling of thin and viscous fluids, while the GHC series is available with head and backhead jackets.

GHA extreme-duty pumps are the world’s most rugged, wear-resistant gear pumps. These grey iron pumps are built to withstand the severe challenges of liquids with abrasives, blending proven gear-pump technology with innovative wear-resistance processes.
