Rosta’s universal joints and oscillating mountings perfect for gyratory sifters

Having mastered several kinds of rubber-suspension technology, including oscillating conveyors, Rosta Inc. manufactures a broad variety of machine elements. For oscillating-conveyor applications, the corporation makes such options as universal joints and oscillating mountings – which are ideally suited for supporting gyratory screening machines, which are also referred to as gyratory sifters.

Gyratory sifters are equipment that businesses commonly use in grain and flour conditioning, pharmaceutical powder preparation, and the chipboard industry.

Type AK and AV units

These machines distinguish themselves with their circular screening motion, which creates a fast, full covering of the complete screen surface to provide high throughput. Rosta can supply the appropriate universal joints and single joint elements for clients that design hanging or upright sifters, for loads as high as 40,000 newtons and rotation of up to 380 min-1. The two models of components for gyratory sifters available are Type AK universal joints and Type AV oscillating mountings.

A maintenance-free elastic joint that users can move in any direction, Type AK is useful as a universal joint support for suspending or mounting gyratory screens, screening tables, tumbling oscillators, sorters, and screening machines that are positively driven by eccentrics or freely oscillating with unbalanced drive. Types AK 15-50 have square aluminum sections, while AK 27 to AK 100-4 have SC iron housing. All other unit sizes are made of welded steel structures and have steel cores.

Type AV oscillating mountings are also maintenance-free elastic joints, but they are constructed to guide circular motions of handing screens, including gyratory sifters and screens in flour and paper mills or chemical processing facilities. These mountings have rubber inserts larger than those in other Rosta components, which enables intensive absorption of hanging-sifter vibration, as well as stronger protection for building structures and ceilings. Type AV 50 has SC cast iron housing, and other sizes have cast iron aluminum housing. All are built from aluminum profiles.

The Rosta team produces these mountings with inner squares that are made out of light metal profiles. The elements are compatible with older models because all of the dimensions are the same.
