The Type AV oscillating mounting, by Rosta

Rosta Inc. is a top Canadian manufacturer of technological parts and solutions for a number of diverse industries, having long mastered three types of essential technology: rubber suspension, oscillating conveyors, and tensioning. Among the company’s many high-end oscillating items is the Type AV oscillating mounting, a maintenance-free elastic joint built to guide circular motions of gyratory sifters and other hanging screens.

Contains a larger rubber insert

Rosta’s Type AV oscillating mounting is highly useful in many kinds of workplaces that use hanging screens, such as flour mills, paper mills, and chemical processing plants. This makes it the mounting of choice for such sectors as pulp and paper, food processing, chemicals, and more.

What distinguishes Type AV from other Rosta elements is that it contains a larger rubber insert than the others have. This enables the mounting to absorb the vibrations of hanging sifters more intensively, which protects ceilings and building structures more effectively. Most Type AV mountings have cast-aluminum housing, and all of them have cores made of aluminum profiles. Since 2014, Rosta has manufactured Type AV with the inner square made of light metal profiles, although the previous design is still available as a special element.

Many companies in Canada and elsewhere have benefited significantly from investing in the Type AV mounting from Rosta. One telling example is SWECO, a screening-machine manufacturer based in Florence, KY. A few years ago, this company needed a new option for supporting screen boxes in its gyratory sifter, because the current design required too much maintenance. The current sifter had 5,500-kilogram screen boxes mounted on four truck drive shafts, and SWECO staff had to replace eight universal joints about twice a year, because of inadequate lubrication and one-sided wear on the bearing bushings. These replacements wasted both time and production.

But once SWECO chose to use Rosta Type AV oscillating mountings, joint replacement became unnecessary, while assembly and re-leveling of sifting boxes instantly became quicker and easier. Today, four gyratory sifters used by the company have shown no evidence of wear, even after several years of 24/7 operation.
