Rosta: Three business divisions; one powerful company

Rosta Inc. has been supplying various industries in Canada with rubber suspension elements and special machine components designed to help reduce maintenance costs and increase productivity since it was established in 1988. The company prides itself in working closely with customers to select or design components to meet their requirements and provide a long-lasting and reliable product.

Rosta’s three business divisions — oscillating conveyor, tensioning and rubber suspension — help it achieve this goal. 

Oscillating conveyor technology

The elastic, neutral reaction and almost vibration-free suspension of oscillating machines and screens in the processing industry is Rosta’s core business. The company, with Canadian operations based in Uxbridge, Ont., has a lineup of free oscillating systems, gyratory sifters and guided shaker systems. 

For all freely vibrating systems, from onion sorting shakers in the tinned food industry up to the ore dewatering screens in mines, Rosta offers standardized suspension variants with the highest levels of isolation. 

The support of gyratory screening machines is the company’s speciality. It supplies vibration-damping universal joint suspensions for load supports from 200 to 40'000 N.

For fast, wear-free shaker conveyors with crank drives, Rosta has a wide range of standard rocker arms for the careful suspension of conveyor and screen troughs, and even for systems with natural frequency operation.

Tensioning technology

The concept and production of machine components for the maintenance-free tensioning of belts and chain drives has always been a core competence of Rosta.

Whether for the initial tensioning of large belt drives with its self-adjusting motor base suspensions, or for efficient secondary tensioning by means of easy-to-install chain and belt tensioners, Rosta has the standardized solution. 

When using the company’s tensioning systems, problems, such as the compensation of lengthening due to age and belt slip, are no longer an issue in machine design. Customers can simply forget the periodical re-tensioning maintenance.

Rubber suspension technology

When companies require a custom suspension system, Rosta can manufacture it. The company currently manufactures 2,374 customer-specific special rubber suspension units — from the smallest production runs in welded construction up to large volumes for the automotive industry, in sintered metal construction or precision moulding.

For the construction of special machines, in which the requirements on the suspension system change almost daily, 124 standard modules are available with assembly clamps for individual solutions.

The damping of vibrations is also a strength of the Rosta rubber suspension units. A wide range of highly efficient anti-vibration mounts guaranteed against tearing are included in the company’s standard program.
