Denso Rock Shield is an effective protective mesh.

Denso North America offers an outstanding selection of industrial tools for preventing corrosion, especially for pipeline builders and maintenance workers. In addition to its acclaimed range of high-quality anti-corrosion tapes and liquid coatings, the company offers Denso Rock Shield – a special protective pipeline mesh that is built to protect anti-corrosion coatings in the case of rocky backfill. With its lightweight material, the Rock Shield solution can withstand challenging environmental and weather conditions.

A broad range of sizes

Environmentally stable and available in a broad range of sizes, Denso Rock Shield is a flexible padding constructed out of high-density polyethylene, which incorporates a special expansion process that provides compressive strength and flexibility. It can be cut with a utility knife. This unique pipeline mesh is available in Standard- and Heavy-Duty versions, the second version being ideal for pipelines that run through areas of rocky terrain. Both models are extruded into a diamond mesh pattern.

Rock Shield comes with many notable advantages and features. Among the examples: absorption of the impact of uneven backfill; cost-effectiveness; cushioning against concrete weights; simple installation; flexibility for easy handling, even in very low temperatures; high impact and tensile strength; minimal abrasion of coating from underground pipe movement; porous mesh that allows water flow for cathodic protection and testing, with no inhibition of the cathodic flow; protection of coating from protruding rocks in the trench; protection of piping during future excavations; and resistance to temperature extremes and wet weather.

Workers can apply this Denso pipeline mesh in a simple way. For pipelines that have diameters of no more than 450 millimetres (mm), the material should be unrolled parallel to the pipe and then wrapped around the pipeline in a longitudinal way. The next step is to fasten it with tape, buckles, or cable ties. If the diameter is larger than 450 mm, then users should pre-cut the sheets to match the pipe circumference and then wrap them around the pipe in a spiral fashion before fastening it.

For cost-efficient, durable, lightweight, and solid protection of pipeline corrosion coatings, trust Rock Shield.
