Matritech has a variety of robotic machinery.

Matritech Inc. gives its customers a wide variety of machining options for custom metal components with its range of robotic equipment for bending and welding. By using the latest machining technology available, the company cements its role as a unique one-stop shop for products and services in the industrial landscape.

By combining its devoted customer service with robotic welding and bending, Matritech continues to meet the high standards of its base.

Keeping pace with evolving demand

Investment in new equipment has been a priority since Matritech was founded 31 years ago, to keep pace with evolving customer demand. A major breakthrough occurred in 2003, when the company bought its first robotic equipment for welding. Today, Matritech owns three multi-axle welding robots with pulsed-arc welding technology, to manufacture complex welding assemblies with perfect precision, quality, and high repeatability.

Manual welding is available for smaller-scale projects. Matritech’s entire welding department can handle steel, stainless steel, and aluminum-assembly projects. Among the competitive advantages that these machine-welded components offer are top quality of tooling used, the experience and high standards of the robot programmers, and the team’s ingenuity for finding the appropriate solution.

Matritech bought its own robotic bending cell, the Trumpf Trubend Cell 7000, in 2014. This was the first such machine in Canada, and it has helped the company boost production capacity and quality. Another benefit has been added flexibility, as customers can switch between high-volume stamping runs and standard bending short runs.

The Trumpf Trubend Cell 7000 has two gripping arms that let it take laid-flat pieces, analyze them, complete the application, and place them on a conveyor, all with perfect synchronization and no human involvement. Matritech and clients both benefit from the machine’s high speed, efficiency, minimal setup time, and capability of producing complex components that suit many industrial purposes.
