The Restuff-IT, available from ELS

ELS is known for making difficult jobs seem easy. That’s why it’s no surprise they manufacture the Restuff-IT; an ergonomic assist that allows workers to load and unload floor-loaded product safely and efficiently.

Using the machine

The Restuff-IT machine has a modular, bi-directional belt, which moves both forwards and backwards. This makes the machine a must for inbound receiving docks and outbound shipping docks. It is also an asset to distribution centres handling delicate products in shipping containers or trailers.

To move the Restuff-IT, a worker stands on the unit’s platform and uses controls to drive the machine from dock to dock. The machine is capable of negotiating dock leveler slopes and transition plates.

Once inside the trailer or container, the operator drives the unit next to the box wall. The operator can control the vertical height of the platform and also guide the pivoting conveyor left or right. This ensure the operator has optimal positioning to the box wall, allowing floor-loaded product to be transferred faster and with less muscle strain and fatigue.

Each Restuff-IT machine can be integrated with any type of conveyor system, including powered flexible roller conveyor and telescopic belt conveyors. ELS engineers evaluate each application and determine which kind of integration is best suited to the product being moved.

As an unloader, the Restuff-IT gets similar results to those of the Destuff-IT machine. By reducing unload times, operations may also realize fewer demurrage, standby, and/or drop trailer charges. As a loader, the ergonomic and performance benefits are significant and include reduced lifting and twisting and, as well, increased cube utilization.

Because of its robust construction, the machine is ideal for multi-shift operations.
