Red-D-Arc power generators bring the music at Canada Day concerts

The Stars and Thunder music festival relied on Red-D-Arc for its power-generation needs.

A week of major stars

Stars and Thunder is an annual festival that takes place in Timmins, Ont. at the beginning of the summer season. The 2017 festival, which ran from June 24 to July 1 of that year, was particularly important because it was also a celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday. The bulk of the lineup consisted of major Canadian musical acts like April Wine, Tom Cochrane and Red Rider, Sass Jordan, Alan Frew, The Box, Michel Pagliaro, David Wilcox, and many others; the bill also included international acts such as Keith Urban.

With such a lineup of big stars, the festival needed power sources with the strength to do the job for eight straight nights, as well as high reliability to make sure none of the attending fans would be let down. So the festival put its trust into Red-D-Arc.

The Red-D-Arc team recommended four of its best power generators for the festival: three 125-kVA generators, and one 70-kVA generator. These generators continued to be used throughout the entire eight-day event, and they never failed. As a result, the festival was a success, and the attendees all had a great time.

Red-D-Arc manufactures no less than 22 types of diesel power generators, with prime outputs ranging from 24 to 400 kVA, as well as three kinds of diesel/natural-gas generators, with prime outputs going from 63 to 150 kVA.
