Rear mounting is available on a variety of recent HARTING connectors

HARTING Canada keeps on bringing new, groundbreaking solutions to the industrial marketplace by making innovation a top priority as it explores the technology of connectivity. In 2021, at the annual Hannover Messe virtual trade show, the manufacturer showcased a wide variety of connectors that were newly available with rear mounting.

Customers can mount these connectors more quickly onto walls and other surfaces with this rear mounting, making operations more efficient and time-saving.

Faster installation to lower costs

Traditional HARTING connectors that have come with rear-fit mounting options include the Han-Eco A and B, the Han B, and the Han M series. Each of these units has been equipped with a “Rear-Fit” installation option for a few years now. Less than two years ago, this option became available for the first time in the Han EMV and Han HPR series as well.

The fully EMC-shielded and extremely robust outdoor housings on these connectors come with rear mounting today. The metal housings in these two series are available in optional models that enable the mounting of contact inserts from the rear, which is an option that simplifies the placement of interfaces on switch cabinet walls. The feature also boosts the speed of installation, which lowers user costs over the long term.

Rear mounting allows users to install the contact inserts in the housing from the back, which is particularly important for installation in cabinets in combination with prefabricated cable assemblies. Assembly of both solutions is accelerated further with the help of a mounting frame, or else modules can be inserted directly into the housing. It is simpler to install contact inserts and reduce installation time with all Han series with the Rear-Fit option.

The new housings are inter-operable with previous models that cannot be equipped from the back. This results in cost-effective, step-by-step introduction of the new housings into manufacturing practices.
